The term power skating is used when defining the skating stride and ensuring the skater is using the skating edges of their blades in an effective and proficient manner. Cro’s Ice Nest believes every skater is unique in the way they walk, the way they run, and consequently in the way they skate. Getting from A to B in the fastest, most proficient way possible, is our goal and we will demonstrate and provide drills which will enhance a players ability to use the edges of their blades in a balanced and efficient manner. Although our skating pads are small, they are ideal for breaking down a skating stride and practising the use of the edges of their skates to move around corners while carrying a puck. The basics of crossovers, stopping, both forwards and backwards can be taught for beginners and advanced techniques for those who skate quite well already.
